Terms of Service

1. The service

AOTG helps you generate synthetic test data and publish mock APIs for development and testing. Features, limits, and plans may change as we improve the product.

2. Accounts

• You must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials secure.
• You are responsible for activity under your account and API tokens.
• Organisation accounts may have additional admin-managed rules and roles.
• We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the service or violate these Terms.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use AOTG for unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent activity.
• Attempt to bypass quotas, security controls, or billing.
• Attack, scrape excessively, or disrupt AOTG or other users.
• Present mock endpoints as production systems to end customers without clear disclosure.
• Upload content you do not have rights to use, or that contains real secrets you should not store.

Generated data is synthetic and for testing. Do not treat it as real personal data of actual people unless you intentionally supply such data yourself.

4. Plans, ads, and billing

• Anonymous and free registered plans include fair-use limits described on the site.
• Anonymous use may include advertising on the home page and app.
• Pro is a paid subscription billed through PayFast. Prices are shown at checkout.
• Subscriptions renew until cancelled. You can manage or cancel via the billing portal where available.
• Failed payments may place the account past due and, after a grace period, suspend Pro features.

5. Your content

You retain rights to content you submit (schemas, mocks, projects). You grant AOTG a limited licence to host, process, and display that content solely to provide the service. You may delete content subject to technical and backup retention limits.

6. Intellectual property

AOTG branding, software, and site materials belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or resell the service except as allowed by law or a written agreement.

7. Availability and changes

We aim for reliable uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with or without notice when reasonably necessary.

8. Disclaimers

AOTG is provided “as is” for development and testing. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Mock APIs are not a substitute for production systems or professional advice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AOTG and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages, or for loss of data arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to AOTG is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us for Pro in the three months before the claim or (b) USD $50.

10. Termination

You may stop using AOTG at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or risk to the service. Provisions that should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits) continue after termination.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in South Africa have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections that cannot be waived.
